About Our School Director -- Mr. B

Brandon Smith is a distinguished professional in the security and public safety industry, boasting over 20 years of experience. As the founder and CEO of Mid-Hudson Security Consultants, LLC, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily operations and ensuring the highest standards of security services.

Mr. Smith's early dedication to leadership and community service began during his formative years. He actively participated in the Boy Scouts of America, the Naval Sea Cadet Program, and the U.S. Army JROTC. He further honed his leadership skills while participating in the National Security Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) (as it is known today) where he received the President's Choice Education Award, and was recognized as a top student in his class by President Bill Clinton and Lieutenant General Daniel W. Christman of the U.S. Army.

He furthered his education with additional credits in physical security and cyber security while participating in a bridge program with the U.S. Army, where he attended his second internship with a federal agency.

He has earned multiple life-saving awards while devoting his time to the emergency medical field, and numerous prestigious commendations from state, local, and federal agencies, recognizing his extraordinary dedication to duty and excellence.

In 2015, Mr. Smith decided to enter the political arena as a bipartisan candidate, collaborating with both the Westchester Republican and Democratic Committees to run for a seat in Congress for District 17/18. 

From 2015 to 2016, Mr. Smith gained over 47,000 followers and planned to file the necessary campaign finance law paperwork. However, caring for his dying mother took precedence, and he ultimately decided to postpone the official launch of his campaign. 

In 2018, a serious accident occurred which almost took his life by inches. This unfortunate occurrence resulted in an extended period of immobility, multiple surgeries, and a long road to recover which cut short his aspirations in federal law enforcement, but his commitment to public service remained steadfast. From his bedside, Mr. Smith established Mid-Hudson Security Consultants, which proved to be a successful security consulting firm focused on security, technical support, and cyber security. Some of his notable clients included the Federal Aviation Administration, Pfizer, Novartis, Bank of America, FedEx, USPS, Amazon, and UPS, among many others.

In 2020, Mr. Smith decided to shift the company’s direction by introducing a new service that leveraged his extensive experience in delivering top-quality security guard services. With his principles, industry knowledge, and 20 years of experience, Mid-Hudson Security Consultants transitioned from a consulting firm to a licensed, insured, and bonded watch, guard, and patrol agency, specifically serving New York and the tri-state area.

In 2021, Mid-Hudson Security Consultants, LLC joined forces with an international security firm, collectively safeguarding over $12 billion in assets for high-net-worth individuals, entities, and corporations in the United States and abroad.

In 2024, Mr. Smith established Mr. B's Security Training Center, a d/b/a of Mid-Hudson Security Consultant's which solely focuses on providing a wide category of training opportunities.   

Today, in addition to running this company, Mr. Smith works closely with local and state law enforcement on critical issues such as police reform, use of force, and community policing. His diverse experience includes roles in contract security business development, client relations, and field operations across various agencies, all of which have equipped him to effectively lead his own company.
